After the traumatizing disappearance of her father, Michelle ran away from her home town and isolated herself. Years later news arrive that her childhood love, Chad, has suffered the same fate. His mother went missing, and was recently declared dead by the police. Michelle flies home where Chad and her closest friends convince her to face her fears, so she can finally move back. The group heads out to the frozen lake resort for a weekend blow-out party, despite the fact that people are still mysteriously falling through the ice and going missing in the area. A local park ranger befriends the group, but he has bigger worries as he is actively trying to solve the mystery to prevent more locals from moving away. The group has a blast out in the snow, skiing, snowmobiling, playing hockey on the lake; at night they head out to an overflowing bar. All seems to be going better than expected, especially when Michelle realizes that Chad is as infatuated with her as she is with him...
